Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)

The four year old child is unique with needs that differ from the younger child. At this age your child is beginning to prepare for school. We provide a more structured learning environment by incorporating the Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Education Standard (VPK) within our curriculum.

VPK is an early childhood development and education program designed to address and enhance each child's progress in the development of language and cognitive capabilities and emotional, social skills. The VPK Standards describes the skills that four-year-old children should know and be able to do by the end of their pre-kindergarten year. Our teachers use the VPK Standards to design and implement the appropriate learning environments our children require to prepare for school readiness. We address the whole child.
The philosophy is to concentrate on logical thinking, problem solving skills, emergent literacy, cognitive development, motor development, social and emotional development, physical health, language and communication.
